SAUDI LAW CONFERENCE
Under the patronage of H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment Dr. Majid Abdullah Al-Kassabi, Burhan Almarifa and LexisNexis are pleased to announce the launch of the 2nd edition of Saudi Law Conference (SLC) which will be held from November 3rd to 5th 2019 at the King Faisal Conventions Center – InterContinental Riyadh Hotel, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The conference is held with the Strategic Partnership of the Ministry of Commerce and Investment, Ministry of Justice, Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP), Saudi Bar Association (SBA), the Bankruptcy Commission (BC), Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) and Fintech Saudi (An initiative under the Financial Sector Development Program).
Developing financial technology "Fintech" laws in Saudi Arabia & globally, & explore related challenges
Legal and practical Intellectual Property developments in the Kingdom, its related challenges, importance to the local economy and how to encourage legal specialists to enhance it
A day dedicated to future leaders in the Saudi legal sector, including the fundamentals of the law profession and related legislations, with special emphasis on commercial legislation
SLC will include workshops tackling Financial Technology "Fintech", drafting its agreements, the most important global IP practices in all IP forms and their importance to SMEs, in addition to bankruptcy laws protecting entrepreneurs and promoting risk-taking creative ideas that will contribute to the Kingdom's economy.
6 DECADES OF LEGAL ADVANCEMENTS
In the past 2 years several new laws have affected the current state of play of businesses in the Kingdom, such as,
the SAGIA license, new VAT implementation, HUB1006, selective tax law and most recently the Bankruptcy law in 2018.
These latest legal developments as well as the prospects for legislative improvement contribute to the Saudi Vision 2030 to further facilitate a healthy business environment that encourages participation by foreign and domestic investors, as well as, local small and medium enterprises.
